In March 2010 Governor Mark Parkinson signed into law the “Kansas Indoor Clean Air Act” which is a ban on smoking in all public buildings and any indoor place of employment. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has launched a website to help Kansas businesses and residents understand provisions of the Kansas Clean Air Act passed by the Kansas Legislature. The new law, banning smoking in most public places, takes effect July 1.

The website, www.kssmokefree.org includes a printable version of the law, frequently asked questions, and tools for businesses such as exemption forms and no smoking signs.
